Dear Parents and Guardians:

Greetings from the Principal’s desk. This is Mr. Shore, Principal at Melrose Elementary School alongside Mrs. Cobb, Assistant Principal!

The time has arrived to start making preparations for what is going to be a very productive 2024/2025 school year! We are continuing with the 3 R’s: To be Ready, Responsible, and Respectful. A key to our overall instruction practices for students is G. L. E. A. M! Our goal is for student learning to be at their Grade Level instruction for all students with Engaging learning activities that are student-centered but also Affirming where we acknowledge our students’ identity and experiences while looking to making it all Meaningful through understanding cultural norms with opportunities to advocate for change.

The Harrisburg School District’s Dress Code for will remain the same as last year with one change: Students are permitted to wear Crocs, but they must be in sports mode. You can find updates on our website. All students are required to follow these guidelines.

I cannot express enough the importance of attendance for every child. Please note, school starts at 8:50 AM and runs to 3:50 PM.
